Hi, I'm Cameron Thompson, a full-stack software developer with 6+ years of experience building applications that serve real users at scale. I specialize in React, Next.js, and geospatial applications, with a unique focus on avalanche forecasting and safety technology.

Currently, I work at Avalanche Canada where I develop forecasting software used by multiple organizations across Canada and maintain public-facing applications that serve over 50,000 backcountry enthusiasts. My work directly contributes to avalanche safety and helps people make informed decisions in the backcountry.

I transitioned into software development through Lighthouse Labs bootcamp, bringing a background in engineering that taught me problem-solving and project management skills. When I'm not coding, you'll find me exploring the mountains as a backcountry skier, playing ultimate frisbee, mountain biking, or enjoying disc golf and chess.
